XP Forgetting shortcuts settings

  myfoot 13:31 19 Feb 06

I have some keyboard shortcuts set using the "properties" box of programme shortcuts for example "Alt Gr" key +T for Notepad, "Alt Gr +I" for Connect to internet, etc. Now in the last few days these only work intermittantly. Anybody suffered this and know the solution. Also I have "Sound Sentry" set to warn me when I inadvertantly hit the "Caps Lock" key. This setting is also not being held and each time I boot up I have to reset it.

Hmm, from what your saying it seems like a profile problem. I would reccomend creating a New User on your machine with a New Profile Generated Automatically and Move any Documents and Shortcuts Over. See how that fairs.

Appreciate the reply welshwizard712. I forgot to mention that I always use the hibernate option.. so where are my keyboard shorcuts stored eg. filename? location etc.
Like now the shortcuts are there as I left them when I switched off, but the next time they may not be. But my setting for sound sentry is gone and I have to reset it again
