im running blueyonder broadband with norton firewall, norten some times acts up , im wondering if win xp own firewall would be as good

setup. I don't have any problem with Norton Firewall. WinXP firewall is not as good as it does not block any outgoing unauthorised content.I would try and sort out the prob with Norton Firewall. : }

WinXp firewall is ok if you occasionaly connect to the internet to get mail or a quick shot of surfing. However with an always on connection you realy do need a 'proper' firewall that checks both ends of the communication. If you want to see how good each one is go to grc.com, and use the SheildsUp! and Port Probe to test your connection when you have Norton enabled and then with XP firewall.

Sounds like you haven't configured the Norton Firewall,, Configure it in association with the wizard.
