I am getting to grips with XP ( I think ) but need some assist on a small prob.I have created a shortcut to my c:\ drive but would like it to open with the folders view. each time I start it folders view has to be enabled.I would also like it to start in the root of C:\ but it seems to default to my documents.Any ideas ? - or have I missed a simple setting on my PC ?thanksHXP
mine opens at the start menu folder.it is annoying but i have not got around to changing it yet. click herefolder views not staying as you set them click here
right click on your explorer shortcut on the desktop and select propertiesin the box called target, edit the contents to show the following%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, /n,this has always worked for memrdsgs
Path fix works - Thanks to mrdsgs & huggyg71 - afraid I used win 95 & 98 for 8 years n have got a bit fixed in my ways ! I still find XP a bit quirky .....HXP
Still works with a right click on Start button Explorer or Windows key plus E
