XP Crash

My PC with XP crashed and says the config sys is corrupted. Screen says push 'r' to fix, but it just continues to go to that screen. Can't get the XP disk to load to reinstall windows or to fix.

Have you tried in safe mode.[Just keep tapping F8 as the computer starts.]And try last good configuration or system restore.

If you can get into Safe Mode, open My Computer>right click>Properties>Tools tab and click on the Error Checking [email protected] Check Now button.

You will need to Reboot to run CheckDisk, which should repair any corrupted files.

I tried the f8 key into the safe mode and tried every selection on that screen. On each choice it came back to the screen that said to press 'r' to fix the problem. Nothing worked. It just kept coming back to that 'r' screen.

This is how to fix this problem click here

You will need to borrow an XP CD and input your own key code when prompted.

I have the CD, but I can't get it to start. The boot on my computer is network, then local. I have changed it to local only and also local, then network and the CD will still not start. Any ideas would be appreciated.
