XP Compressed Folders - change default settings?

I sometimes use the XP zip extract to open zip files from a download directory.

Anyone know how to change the default directory from the existing folder to one of my own choosing without typing it in every time.

I use a dedicated unzipped folder to evaluate and read 'readme' prior to an install or delete.

I hate the way it inserts the existing folder and creates a subdirectory for the zip.

registry has about 600 zip locations with defaults like %system%blah blah% etc.
