using win xp + office xp, want to set up an XL sheet using auto formatting, have prev done with with other chart where the more/less/equal to has been a fixed figure throughout, this time I want the autoformatting to be set up so that if I get a +/- figure the next time I imput data I want the autoformatting to apply to the current against the last cell, can this be done on a row/column rather than having to do this with each cell?

If I think I Understand you right, you can right click on the column/row letter/number and select formating and that will format whole columns or rows of cells. Drag higlight to select multiple column/rows.
