For the last three months I have had a blue screen error occuring on each power up.
It asks if I have installed all the correct drivers, which I have.
It only occurs once per powerup.
It concludes with this.
XXXSTOP: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005,0x00000200,0xef308c18, 0x00000000)
I have asked Microsoft to analyse but they just ask me to get current drivers.
Please help!!

Since putting this request in I have come up with some interesting info.
It seems that this error being:
XXXSTOP: 0X0000008E
Is a BUGCHECK and is a random error known to Microsoft in XP PRO.
It can be fixed using a HOTFIX, which I can't locate.
Also this will seemingly be resolved with the next Service Pack.
Can anyone elaborate on this.
Ivan.

Well just goes to show you. I checked the stop:0x0000008e error on the ms knowledge base when i had just installed more ram and it told me i had faulty ram.

Oh, i know for a fact it was the ram, cos got diff sticks and have no probs since. could be the prob here?
