Ive tried connecting to xbox live on a laptop before with bridgeing the conncections but that stopped the internet from working. Is there anyway to do it through a desktop without bridgeing connections or is there like things to tick and things to configure instead of just clicking brigde connections?

If you havent got wireless, the best thing is to connect via ethernet cable direct to router,i always connect this way and it works everytime.

Does your xbox have the wireless attachment?,if it does then it should connect without having to bridge the connection it connects to the router's wireless interface,if not then you either need to buy one or get an exrta long ethernet cable.
