Writeable rights

I have Windows XP and have started getting the BSOD on shutdown which indicates an error with my Logitech iTouch keyboard. The MS KB indicates they are aware of the problem and recommends downloading the latest drivers for the iTouch keyboard. This I have done. However when I try to install the download I get an error message which reads,"Access is denied. You must have writable rights on the disk." The installation of the drivers then aborts and I am left with the annoying BSOD on shutdown. Can anyone tell me how I get writable rights?
