Write speed for CDRs

I have been having no end of trouble copying some music CDs for use in my car.

I am using the Roxio Disc Copier facilty.

I've had several attempts where the process seems to halt at the point of writing to the blank disc.

My last attempt has worked, but ever so slowly.

The program tells me that I have selected 24x write speed, but that the actual write speed wavers between 1x and 3x. This means that it's taking more than 15 mins to copy the disc!

My PC has a 3.0GHz P4, running WinXP Home.

Had anyone got any ideas as why the system is so slow, and how I can make it speed up?

click here and d/l 'enditall'. Run the programme and it will close anything that is not necessary. You can then try to burn a CD. A reboot of the computer will start everything up again.
