every time i try to save a photo/file/music to a cd i get the error REMOVE WRITE PROTECTION or replace disc !! ...I have changed the DVD RW drive with my old CD RW drive ,, still the same .. I can save any file to a memory stick, any idears

This should be easy to do with WinXP Pro. Right-click the drive and select Property, followed by choosing the Security tab, within which you can modify the level of protection you choose. WinXP Home, on the contrary, lacks this feature. However, you can still bring up the security tab when you boot up into the Safe Mode

When you save to optical disc it auto write protects, If you reload back to the Hard Drive etc you have to change back to Archive
