Please help as I'm going to hit the drink soon.
I have just tried to open a document on my wife's Sony Vaio which has a spreadsheet in the middle. When I double click on the spreadsheet I get ' the servr application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed'
My desktop will open the same file when shared over the network but not the laptop. I've uninnstalled office twice and finally got rid of office 2003 trial assisant but no use.

What I have found is by right clicking on the object in both machines I get:
Laptop; microsoft works spreadsheet-> convert.
Desktop; works sheet or chart object->edit,convert

desktop works

I got out my old computer and it seems the 'spreadsheet' was originally a table in 2003.
The new versions of Office see it as a spreadsheet.
Caan anyone help?
