In Word,Section breaks and Page numbering

In Word, I have to produce a Report with an Introduction on the first page and Contents on the second. The Report starts on the third page. The Introduction and Contents pages are not to be numbered;numbering has to start on the third page at page 1. I have tried using a Section Break for this but cannot get it to work. If I put in a Section Break after the Contents page and then start Page Numbering, the numbering starts on the first(Introduction) page. Am I doing something wrong or is what I want just not possible?

When you insert the page number click the Format button and tell it to start numbering from 1, not the previous section. View, Headers and Footers, switch to Footer, click the Same as Previous button to undo the link. Switch to the previous section and delete its page number.
