Word XP - Fonts not showing correct size

  umpani 10:34 14 Mar 03

I have hit a problem with Word XP. Any document I create using any fonts of 20pt or less show up as only 6pt. Are there hidden settings for Word XP or could this be a problem with the installation. I have also tried to re-install Word XP but the same problem occurs. Any advice would be great.

Try going into Format, Font, setting the font and point size you want and clicking the Default button (bottom left).

Also you might try the Normal.dot trick. If the template for a blank page gets corrupted - which it does with monotonous regularity it seems - this can cause many weird problems that even a re-install of Word will not cure.

Search for all intances of the file Normal.dot - then rename them normalold.dot (or similar). On restarting Word, they will be recreated as they originally were, and should be.
