Word Perfect to Word

I have lots of smallish files that were saved onto floppies in an old version of Word Perfect. I kept them on the basis that they might come in handy, and they have. I have no problem opening them individually in Word and then resaving as Word Documents. Being a lazy soul, I was wondering if there is an easy way to do this en bloc.

Any thought appreciated.

you could write some VB in word that seaches the floppy, then opens each WP document and saves a copy back to C as a word document

'Create a reference to Microsoft Scription Runtime

'Copy the follwoing code into WORD VB editor

'insert your floppy

'Run GenDrive

Dim FSO As New FileSystemObject

Dim myFile As File

Function GenDrive()

Dim myDrv As Drive

For Each myDrv In FSO.Drives

If myDrv.DriveLetter = "A" Then

GetTheFolders FSO.GetFolder(myDrv.Path)

End If

Next

End Function

Function GetTheFolders(MyFolder As Folder)

Dim myFld As Folder

GetTheFiles MyFolder

For Each myFld In MyFolder.SubFolders

GetTheFolders myFld

Next

End Function

Function GetTheFiles(myFld As Folder)

Dim myFile As File

For Each myFile In myFld.Files

ChangeFileOpenDirectory myFld

ConvertFile myFile

Next

End Function

Function ConvertFile(myFile As File)

Documents.Open myFile.Name, False

ActiveDocument.SaveAs "c:\WORD_" & myFile.Name, wdFormatDocument

Documents.Close False

End Function

Thanks for that. I don't know quite what I will be doing, but I will do exactly as you say and keep my fingers crossed!
