Word icon

I have Office 2003.
My Word documents used to be identified by the blue "W" but since then it now shows my word documents with an icon resembling a small ringfolder book with a large red "A" in the bottom right hand corner.
All my documents open OK and I can use the Word programme to write letters etc.
I would like my blue "W" back.
Can any one help please.

Right-click on the shortcut icon, choose Properties > Shortcut tab and choose the 'Change Icon' option.

Tried that and although I changed it to "W" it remains the same

First Delete the one you have then Try this go to C:/Proram Files/ Microsoft office/ Office12/ scroll down to the Word Icon, and right Click> Send to Desk Top Rename it if needed.
Alternatively repair MS Office
