Word Document Set up

  Duncanf 10:37 29 May 04

I've just reinstalled Word 2000 and adjusted page set-up to suit the margins and top/bottom spacings I prefer. I can't remember how to save these margin settings so that they appear each time a Word document is started. Can someone help? Thanks in anticipation.

find and open normal.dot.
make adjustments required
SAVE AS normal.dot (you will need to select .dot from file types drop down)
Everytime you open Word with a new/blank document it will use normal.dot as the template.

off the top of my head, I think you have to crate the page set up (not just margins, fonts, paragraph settings etc.) and save it as a new template.

Open Word and go to page setup. Adjust margins as you want them then click on the default button. They will stay that way until you change them again. If you want the changes for just the one document click on OK not default. j.

Thanks, johnsims, Martin T-B and Djohn for your helpful suggestions. Djohn's saving in default sorted it out. Thanks to you all.
