Word 2007 "normal template"

  compound 20:42 28 Jan 08

I have been trying all evening to amend the "normal" template to take out the default 10 spacing after in the page layout sections.

I have followed the notes on how to change a template but it still comes back with 10.

Frustration is setting in, can anybody help?

rename normal.dot to normal.old

To get around this open paragraph options and set line spacing to single and Spacing-After to 0pt then click default button and this will change your normal.dot template to not do this anymore!

The best way is to

open a doc using the normal template

amand it as required

save it as a template (.dot) with a different name

use the new saved template.

The advantage of doing it this way, is that if there is ever a problem and you need to re-create the normal template (word has a proclivity to get normal.dot corrupted), you won't lose your altered template.
