Word 2003 shortcut

My biggest computer use is writing booklets and I use footnotes frequently.
It is tedious to have to click several times Insert/Reference/Footnotes/Insert (accepting the defaults). It would be great to have a keyboard short cut e.g. Alt + F or whatever to do the job quickly.
Is it possible?

After wasting hours with Microsoft Help, I've found what I need mostly by trial & error. I can Alt + F and the footnote dialogue box appears & I just have to click "Insert". It would be much better if my new Alt + F include the "Insert" bit so that I can immediately start typing the footnote.
Any ideas?

You could record a macro in Word (read the Help files to find out how), assign an unused key combination of your choice and away you go.
