Word 2003 lost topand bottom margins!

  six-h 00:31 12 Sep 09

When I open Word, the cursor is at the very top of the page.
I can't adjust the top/bottom margins by sliding the pointer on the vertical rule, 'cos there isn't any pointer.
I've tried setting top and bottom margins to 2.54cm in "Page setup" but it has no effect.
I've also re-named "Normal.dot" as "Old Normal.dot" without success.
How can I regain control of the top and bottom margins??

Easily done and you weren't the first and you won't be the last and if you do it again you will know how to fix it. Congratulations on sorting it out yourself.
