Doesn't it drive you round the bend when word insists on trying to help you by doing someething you dont want it to do.

I use XP Home Edition SP£. I have Office 2003. I've been typing all afternoon and now suddenly when I press the return key and start typing it is not on the next line but with a line gap. I dont want a line space, I want the typing immediately underneath the last line.

Hope I'm not rambling too much and you can understand what is happening.

Would appreciate some advice before I tear my hair out.

Time for coffee I think.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
Click on Format>Paragraph>Indents and Spacing>Line spacing drop down box and set to Single.
Hope this helps.

Just thought I would mention that I've deleted the document which was causing problems and started a new one. Spacing is doing exactly as I request.

Must have pressed the ctrl + something key and goosed things up.

Thank you for your help McD
