wmm 6.0 and avi problem

Hello All

I've just tried to download an avi video file onto windows movie maker 6.0 and when I try to drag the file onto the timeline/storyboard, it will only accept it as an audio file. I know its a video file as I shot the video myself.

I've tried checking the codecs using a well recommended site, and it says the codes are installed. I've had a look at some of the filters, but to be honest I'm not sure what they all do.

So, has anyone had this happen to them before, if so, what did you do to fix it, as I'd really like to use this software to edit my videos

Thanks

Joe

Will the file splay OK in Windows Media Player ?

The files may say it's an avi file but it could be a Divx and you may not have the correct codec installed to open it.

Try downloading codec from :-
