So we have gone from wires and cables to wireless routers. We have left behind the cassette tape and CD in favour of digitally stored files..... What could possibly be next? Where else can we go? And what, exactly, is on the horizon?

We still use wires and cables, cassette tapes and CDs.

>>> And what, exactly, is on the horizon?

For a start there's USB 3.0 and USB "Wireless".

agreed, we still use cassette tapes. But we did move from the record to the cassette to the CD, not to mention all the inbetweens... Mini disks for example. I guess it's more about progression... Retailers no longer sell these in much capacity these days... It's all about digital music files and WiFi. My question is more about what's next?
