Wirless networking without NIC card

My current set up at home is using a Virgin Media Superhub and I have a few devices connected to this. My spare PC is of a good spec, but does not have a wireless NIC card on board. I have a spare NetGear Router (from Virgin).

My questions is as follows: Is it possible to use the spare router directly connected to my PC to act in the same way as a wireless NIC card, and avoid having to buy a new one?

Any ideas / guidance will be really helpful...

Many thanks

but does not have a wireless NIC card on board

easy to fit just plugs into a spare PCI slot or if you do not want to open the case a usb wireless dongle will work just as well
