Wireless Router Dropping Packets?

I have a cable Netgear router that seems to be dropping packets when used wirelessly. A few packets get through OK and then it keeps getting: "General Failure" every 5 packets or so. It is a rangemax router and i am sitting right beside it.

Any ideas?

Download TCP Optimiser from:

and click on the Largest MTU tab (you may have to run it once or twice) to determine the correct MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) setting.

If you then click on Customise you can change the setting to that figure.

Thanks for that. Have managed to solve it already. The default wireless channel was set to auto. I have changed this to manual and selected channel 1. So far 500 ping requests and no drop outs. Fingers crossed!!
