i`m going round in HUUUUUUUUGE circles trying to select a wireless router. its so ridiculously complicated.

ive been looking at the dlink di-524 which is only £39.99 at pc world but i dont think it is suitable for an adsl connection.

could someone help me please

Good guess; it's not.

You need a modem/router, for which there is quite a simple choice. Belkin 7632 (I prefer that to the pricier 33 as it still has a USB printer port), or maybe the Linksys WAG354G (not the GS; the extra speed of proprietary boosted equipment is not really worth it for most folk). I have also used the 3Com equivalent, but the exact model number is so long, I can't remember it off-hand.

hi ade.h, thanks for that. i`ve seen the belkin 7632 and think i`ll take the plunge with that one and stop buggering about.
many thanks for the late night response

The Netgear click here is excellent, used by a lot of people.

But not as configurable.

oh god! choice again!

whats the difference between the dg834g and the dg834uk (apart from the price)?

Stay with your original choice.
