Wireless problem

  macca40 20:44 13 Jul 05

I have two computers connected with an ADSL wireless modem/ router.
One computer with USB adapter and a laptop with built in wireless card.
Setting the two computers up went ok also setting security (WPA-PSK)
No problem but when I have one pc on and connected then connect the second one I loose connection on the first one.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Are the two computers getting their IP addresses automatically by DHCP from the router? They should each get a different IP address but in the same range, probably 192.168.xxx.xxx

If you had allocated the same IP address manually to both computers (and in the same range as the router) only the first to connect to the internet would get online. Also, if using a router, Internet Connection Sharing should *NOT* be enabled on either computer, as this does allocate a fixed IP address to the network adapter.
