Hi

My friend has a linksys wireless router connected to Blueyonder broadband, she has a laptop also running a compatible wireless network card. She is using XP Home.

The problem is that the card is saying that it is connected wirelessly but she cant access internet etc.

When i checked her settings in ipconfig, there was no ip address or other info. How change these settings, thought that may fix the problem? can i set the ip address to 192.168.1.101 for example??

The problem first occured when her laptop crashed with memory problems.

Any ideas would be great

Thanks

PAul

Have you tried repairing the connection? Right click the icon in the Systray and select 'repair'

Also depends on the security settings of her router. You may have to add the MAC address of the laptop wireless adapter card.
