a friend of mine has had a wireless network for quite a while now, before she had a wireless G notebook card which linked up to the belkin wireless g router which connected fine and had no trouble. WPA security was covering the connection so it was fine with no disconnections, today a wireless g desktop card was bought for a computer in the house running on windows xp home edition and everything was installed fine but then when the network is connected the internet lasts for a few seconds or a few webpages and then disconnects, does anyone have any ideas whats wrong, i am not sure if it is a firewall as i can't find one on the computer

If it were a firewall you would not get through at all.

Could be a faulty card

try a different card? try seeing if it works with another wireless device?
