Wireless network problems

Whenever I try and use my computer for high upload programs (i.e programs such as skype) it drops the connection after about 30 seconds. I know wireless networks are very unpredictable and not ruled by logic sometimes but can anyone think why this might be and what I could do to sort it.

You're right, this is very common. The better makers of wireless kit usually sort this sort of behaviour out with firmware upgrades. Best go to the website of the manufacturer of the wireless kit and go to the support pages and see if an firmware update is available.

Or you could try seeing if your wireless equipment would take a high gain antenna, just a thought......

I had this problem with an early Netgear DG834G modem/router, but all it needed was two firmware updates an there has not been a problem since.
