Disable the password on router and see if you can connect

If you can connect check the password on laptop

It is better if you save the password that you set up on the router as a doc transfer to laptop and just copy and paste when requested

you can disable the need for a user id and password?

No access the wireless section on the router and remove/disable the security key

Reboot the router and retry to connect the laptop if connected you security key on the laptop is not correct

Delete user profile on the laptop and reconnect with setting the SSID and the correct security key
