Wireless network equipment

I would like to setup a wireless network to connect my main PC to my laptop (both running XP). i have been advised to put a network card into my main PC, link that to a wireless access point and get a PC card for the laptop. I want to share files, printer etc. and my broadband connection.

Will this work? has anyone got any betters ideas?

Just need two wireless adapters.

I have a built in wireless adapter in my laptop and, and i bought a cheap USB wireless adpater (about ?20). Took a little setting up because i was a novice, but does everyone that you want.

Been a while, sorry. You're probably already up and running.

That way just seemed more expensive. Getting the pc card for the laptop and then a wireless adapter skips the need for a network card and access point.
