Having read some of the other posts on this site, I have found that although my 2 computers can share the internet, I do not appear to have a Wireless network connection on my network connections page. How does this happen????

If you mean in Internet Explorer it's because it's a LAN (Local Area Network) connection and it requires no settings as such.

i think that Borolee must be talking about the Network Connections folder; if there's no Wi-fi in there, then that's very odd. It would suggest the lack of a Wi-fi adapter or an inability to recognise it.

I have the same problem. On te desktop I can see the laptop, however the laptop cannot see any desktop drives. The laptop can use the wireless internet connection. Anyone know the problem
