Wireless Mouse problem.

Fitted a new wireless mouse to my laptop and everything worked perfectly for 15 minutes, then it stopped working. I fitted new batteries thinking that perhaps the " supplied " batteries were duff. Now whenever I plug in the USB stick my laptop switches off. I have to remove the USB stick and unplug from the mains before I can restart my laptop.
Any thoughts guys.?

When you say `.. plug in the USB stick ..` do you mean the mouse stick or a memory stick?

Logically, the mouse stick should be plugged in at start up for it to be recognised, so if it is this I would suggest the mouse stick is suspect. Have you tried it in a different port?

Hi John, it is " the stick " that came with the mouse
set-up. I've tried in all of the usb ports with the same results .. Zilch.

I think either the mouse or USB stick has failed. Your best bet is to return the items for replacement; if still under warranty.

You had better check the USB ports using other devices before doing this to ensure they are still working. There is a possibility they may have failed or been caused to fail - unlikely but possible.
