Wireless Modem help!

I have had to move my pc upstairs. I use AOL dial up internet. I would like to get a wireless modem to use the internet instead. Would i still have to have a phone line connection in the same room as the pc? I was hoping to have the wireless modem in the room next to the pc where there is a phone line. Its less that 20 metres from the pc. Or have i got it all wrong!! Please help, my head is dizzy! Thanks

The only wireless "dialup" modem I have come across is this device from BT - click here

It doesn't use conventional WiFi and is in two parts, one of which plugs into the phone line and the other into the PC, so you wouldn't need to have a phone connection in the same room as the PC provided the signal strngth was good enough over the distance you need.
