Wireless link between wired networks

I have a Sky broadband router downstairs which has wired and wireless links to workstations downstairs. I have a wired network upstairs in my study. I want to put a router into the study that will link wirelessly to the Sky router downstairs and link the wired workstations to the broadband. What can I use in the study to achieve this?

A Router won't do what you want. Wireless routers incorporate a Wireless Access Point to which Wireless Network Adapters (computers) connect, but two Wireless Access Points cannot communicate directly.

What you need to install in the study is a Wireless Network Bridge, which is a device to connect a wired network to a wireless one (your Sky router).

Have a look at this page for examples.
