Wireless Laptop

I took my wireless laptop to my sister's this morning to try to convince her to buy one. She has no computer at all. I booted it up and to my amazement it connected to the internet! Could her house be a hotspot? If not how did this happen?

Thanks
Beth

Sounds like one or more of her neighbours has an unsecured wireless network.

Using another persons bandwidth without their permission is effectively stealing, even if they have not secured it properly.

WOW - thanks Fruit Bat. How would I explain to the neighbour that they should secure their network - how is it done? (securing their network I mean)

Thanks
