wireless keyboard, some keys not working

I have an Acer (Logitech) wireless keyboard for which some of the keys are not working. Have changed the batteries and pressed the 'connect' button but problem persists. Wireless mouse working OK. Have removed 'dongle', rebooted. Still the same. Have tried an old PS2 type keyboard but that doesn't work either. No updates for drivers from Acer/ Logitech appear to be available. New keyboard? Or any other ideas/ solution? Any info much appreciated.

I would have suggested another keyboard until you mentioned that the problem persisted after you plugged in an alternative keyboard. A strange problem.

So have you tried?

A different USB ports.

The keyboard on a different computer/laptop.

Or holding down the left shift key for 5 seconds.

Have now rebooted a second time, and have been able to get the PS2 keyboard working. (hadn't pushed it in far enough!). The wireless keyboard still doesn't work. Have tried the left shift key, but no response there either.

Try going to Device Manager and select Update Driver Software and select Browse My Computer for Driver Software - this may just do the trick.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the older type of keyboard which uses a 'dongle' so the unifying USB is not used. I have checked the compatability and the mouse works fine. Tried the driver update from Logitech but none found as relevant and the keyboard is about 4 years old. Have had a look at their forums but only answers appear to with a sticking key(locked down) which I don't have. I'll give them a try with regards to replacement `
