wireless keyboard

I run Windows XP with a wireless keyboard. Suddenly my keyboard won't work. I've reinstalled the software and replaced the batteries. Should I assume there's nothing more I can try before buying a new keyboard - and as I'm not particularly worried about another wireless k/board, is there any special recommended one from this forum.

Is the keyboard still in range of the receiver?

Are you up to date with any patches/updates from the web site of the maker and indeed windows updates?

You have to reconnect the signal to the keyboard after you have changed batteries.

somewhere on the underside of the keyboard is a button there will also be one on the reciever. press the one on the reciver then press the one on the keyboard.
