Wireless Internt small problem

As soon as I switch off my router, the internet won't work on my laptop in the network

I have a Netgear b router connected to a PC through ethernet and laptop is connected through wireless.

I have entered the 'mac' address of the laptop in the wireless access list setting but it still forgets the laptop as soon as the router is switched off.

it would appear that the router is providing a path for the wireless access.

so what do I do then so I don't have to set up everytime i switch it off?

Don't switch off the router.
Why do you anyway??

Well, I have too many green liights around the computer and my bed is right next to it. The lights are annoying. Thats why I switch them off. Also tryin 2b abit more environment friendly :)

I turn the whole kit and caboodle off when I have finished with it - saves that little bit more.

Make sure when you switch off router, if you must, that you do not disconnect the internet via your pc first.

It should then start up ok when switched back on. mine does anyway.

All the best.
