Wireless Home Network

Can you help me please.

I am trying to set up a simple home network between my pc (running Windows xp) and my laptop (also running Windows xp). The laptop already has a wireless network capability built in. The reason for the network is I would like to access the USB cable modem in my pc from my laptop.

I have just purchased a Belkin USB Network Adapter (F5D6050u) for the pc and on installing it I am unable to get it to work properly. Whilst using the Network Setup wizard in xp to set up the network it produces an error that the “Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close”. I close this but when I click on “My Network Places” there is nothing shown despite the fact that on the laptop it shows a HOME network after carrying out the same procedure.

Any suggestions?
