Wireless Help desperately needed...

Hi folks, I need your help.

I have a netgear router which is working fine with my Vista Laptop. I have a Pentium 4 (ASUS Motherboard) PC that I want to connect using either a Netgear WG111T USB adapter or a D-Link DWL G122 USB adapter. The problem I am having is that when I load the software for either device, the programme either won't open (D-Link), briefly flashes on the screen for half a second (Netgear). This is driving me mad. I know the D-Link adapter works fine on another computer, so I assume the Netgear is fine too.

I have installed the software for both the D-Link and the Netgear, and have tried with just one software running so I don't think it's a software conflict. The computer is also telling me that there is no driver installed for the D-Link adapter.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

I would suggest there is a software conflict, so you could try:-

Unplug the USB wireless dongle(s).

Goto Control Panel -> Add/Remove hardware, and uninstall both USB dongles.

Re-Install the software/drivers supplied with ONE of the dongles only.

Re-boot if prompted.

Insert the correct dongle for the installed software/driver.

Windows should "detect new hardware" and install the driver to make it work.

If that scenario doesn't work it's beyond my help, and you could try the relevent manufacturers site for a solution.
