I updraded my IBM R51 Laptop to Windows XP Sp3 and i cant connect to my wireless connection.
I check wireless adapter is working properly. When i go in network connections, i can see one connection called...1394 connection connected 1394 Net Adapter. If i click repair to this icon i get message...failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed.
My other laptop is connected and working properly with my D Link Router.
Please help.

The "1394 Connection" is *FIREWIRE* and nothing to do with your internet connection. Unless disabled, it will always show as "Connected".

In the Network Connections folder, it is the "Wireless Network Connection" that must connect to your router wirelessly.

I had been using XP SP3 wirelessly for many months without a problem. However, I recently reinstalled Windows in that PC and if I now install SP3 again, I cannot connect wirelessly - it just sticks at "Acquiring network address".
