Wireless connection not being found for no reason.

Laptop running and connecting to the wireless internet at home for over a year now, but one day just stopped being able to 'find' networks to connect to. The wireless network is working perfectly well, and another laptop in the house can connect fine. It tells me there are no available networks around even when i am right next to the home computer.

Can anyone please help shed some light on the problem?
