Having reformatted my sons PC the other day and loading everything back on ,he has a network card installed which links in with my router downstairs ,now signal shows as excellent and he can browse, email etc,but installing some games and patching them he kept losing the connection???and had to restart again, why does this happen,is a setting out or something??,very strange.

I can't help with this one, so I'll bump it to the top of the page instead.

I had the same problem, the cure for mine was.Go into network settings, click properties, then configure, then advanced, then connection type, change value to 10 base T half duplex.then O.K, do this on both computers and that's it. hope it works for you, it did mine.
