I have a linksys router with several laptops connected to it and functioning fine. A friend of mine has a thinkpad with a wireless card in it and when he comes over his laptop finds th router connectrs with signal strength excellent. However if i click on his connection on the laptop he is connected and sending packets but there are no packets being received. If i run IPCONFIG, i see the wireless card has not gateway. How do i diagnos if the card is set up properly

At bottom of display tick the box “Show Icon in Notification Area When Connected

Network Connection Setting

Click-Start- Setting-Network Connection-New Connection Wizard

Select-Connect to the Internet-Next

Select-Set Up My Connection Manually-Next

Select-Connect using a broadband connection that is always on

Right click on the wireless icon in the task bar and check that the wireless card is Enable

Some times you have to Disable and Enable the wireless card before the card will connect to the
