wireless card

Hello everyone I am new to networking so this question may sound stupid but having aquired a new computer that came with a thompson speedtouch 530 router and wireless card installed I wish to network do I have to buy the same make of card that is in the pc I have just brought or will any 805 11.b card be ok to fit in the second computer Thank you kopite

While using wireless kit from the same stable will obviously minimise the risk of compatibility problems, all 802.11b and 802.11g *should* be compatible.

Connections using an 802.11b WiFi adapter will, of course, only run at 11Mbps compared to 54Mbps with 802.11g
