Wireless avaialble but wont connect

I've managed to get one pc working wirelessly but a second one (also XP) which has not been online for ages wont connect. The two little TV icons are there along with a message that the wireless network is avaiable. When I put the key in twice however and press connect the window simply closes and the connection does not materialise.

Given that the settings look different on the two PCs I'm just wondering if the non-working one needs Windows updates before it will work. There is no drop down box to pick the encryption type (WEP etc) for example. Any ideas please?

Could be updated drivers required (eg to support wpa vs wep) or that the one that doesn't work actually won't support the required encryption.

look into your wireless network card on the net and see what it supports, get the latest drivers also.

I presume that there is no mac address filtering going on ?

I think that it doesn't support WPA so I guess that's why it may not work.

I've managed to get two other PCs to work off it one Vista ano XP. For some reason a third XP wont work.
