Wireless acting weird

My wireless internet is acting rather weird lately.

It's got standard encryption with a wireless key and whatnot but it keeps forgetting this for some reason. It keeps switching itself onto 'the key is provided for my automatically' for no apparent reason. How do I sotp this?

Also odd is that it doesn't show as being connected when it actually is working and is connected, it says 'not connected' and there's a red cross on the icon in place of the tick.

The router works fine for other computers and the laptop works fine for other wireless networks.

As you dont say what make and model the wireless AP is its hard to say what could be wrong, but if you check the makers website you might find that there is a firmware update for it.
You also dont mention what OS you have.
