under network adapters what should it say?

Well that would depend entirely on your network adapter.

It will mention "Wireless" something like "Intel" or "802.11b/g" if it just says something about "10/100" adapter you`ve probably not got wireless in the laptop but that can be sorted for £20!

Tell us your Make and Model of Laptop and we`ll check it out for you.

click here for the manual. If it is an Inspiron 1000 and not a more recent model you will need a USB Wireless adapter click here and, unless you already have one a wireless router/modem to connect to a broadband connection.

You need to give us a little more information about how you want to use a wireless connection. Who is the service provider for example and is this for your home connection?
